The 2013 People's Choice Awards will take place on Thursday, November 7 at the Kerfoot Refectory at Saint James School. This event recognizes three "unsung heroes" in our community who give generously of their time and talents to make Washington County a better place to live.
Unfortunately, the Wills & Estate Planning Seminar for Tuesday, December 10 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. was cancelled because of the weather. We will do our best to reschedule this seminar about managing your will or estate.
The Community Foundation will run a Facebook promotion from January 27-31 where one local nonprofit organization will receive grant money based on the Foundation’s total number of “Likes” in this time period up to $1,000. During our promotion, we ask that you go to facebook.com/cfwashingtoncountymd and “Like” our page. Then vote for your favorite Washington County nonprofit in the “Comments” section of the promotion’s post. The Foundation will announce the top vote getter and winner on Wednesday, February 5.
We will hold a free wills and estate planning seminar on Tuesday, February 11 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Ann Marie Rotz of Myers, Young & Grove, P.A., will discuss such topics as the basic components of a will and what it means to have a living trust.

The Community Foundation will present its 2014 unrestricted grants to 27 local nonprofits on Tuesday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. at The Maryland Theatre.
The 2nd annual Washington County Gives Day will take place on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. This 24-hour web-based giving promotion can benefit any 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Washington County (other than a church, mosque or temple) to help raise operating dollars for their organization. Participating nonprofits must register with the Community Foundation of Washington County by April 1, 2014.
