  • Bar Association of Washington County MD Endowment Fund

    Law

    Provides scholarships to qualifying high school, home school, private school, parochial school, college, or technical school students that plan to pursue, or are pursuing, a legal or paralegal certificate or degree. Applicants must demonstrate a high level of academic success and a commitment to community service. Graduate students may apply.

  • Dan Pheil Scholarship Fund

    Business

    Created in honor of Dan Pheil, this scholarship awards a deserving graduating high school senior residing in Washington County who plans to major in business.

  • Doleman Black Heritage Museum Robert Henry Kelsh Culinary and/or Piano Study Scholarship

    Culinary Arts & Piano Instruction

    This scholarship fund, established in memory of Robert Henry Kelsh, offers financial aid to a minority student (with preference to African American students), from any Washington County Public or private High School, or a student currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college, whose intended career path is to pursue further education at a trade school, college, university, or other special-focused institution for Culinary Art, or for Specialized Instruction in Piano. This scholarship is a component of the Doleman Black Heritage Museum Agency Fund.

  • Evelyn Manning Potter and Vivian Grove Strunk Memorial Scholarship

    Administrative Professionals

    Created by the International Association for Administrative Professionals, in memory of Evelyn Manning Potter and Vivian Grove Strunk, to provide financial support to qualifying students pursuing a career in the administrative professional arena.

  • FOP Lodge #88 Criminal Justice Scholarship

    Criminal Justice

    Established by the FOP Thomas Pangborn Lodge #88, this scholarship shall provide awards to deserving students pursuing an education in criminal justice.

  • Greg Shank Memorial Scholarship

    Cross Country | Track & Field

    In memory of Greg Shank, this fund will award scholarships to Washington County High School students with plans for post-secondary education while competing collegiately in Cross Country or Track and Field.

  • Hagerstown Garden Club Scholarship

    Horticulture

    This scholarship was created to memorialize the Hagerstown Garden Club. The applicant must be a Washington County resident that is a graduating high school senior, has been accepted into an accredited college, and is planning to major in a horticultural field, OR is a Washington County resident that is a current student at an accredited college, is majoring in a horticultural field, and has a minimum GPA of 3.0.

  • Jodi L. Smith Readers to Leaders Scholarship

    Teaching

    In memory of Jodi L. Smith, this scholarship provides funding to deserving Washington County Public Schools students who are aspiring reading or English teachers.

  • Jon Christopher Gauss, Jr. Auto Mechanic Scholarship Fund

    Auto Mechanics

    Jon Christopher Gauss Jr.’s parents established this scholarship in his memory to award a student pursuing auto mechanics in a post-secondary education, with preference given to a student planning to attend James Rumsey Technical Institute.

  • Karen C. and A. Wells Ridenour Nursing Scholarship Fund

    Nursing

    This scholarship supports a Washington County resident of any age, race, or gender that’s accepted to an accredited four-year nursing program with the intention of completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

  • Lawrence and Genevieve Martin Scholarship Fund

    Building Industry

    This scholarship honors Larry and Geney Martin by assisting a young man or woman graduating from a Washington County, MD public high school who plans to pursue a career in the building industry.

  • Meritus Healthcare Foundation Scholarship Fund

    Healthcare

    This fund provides scholarships to deserving students from any Washington County public or private high school accepted into a designated health care program.

  • Paul Lawson Memorial Aviation Scholarship

    Aviation

    This fund was created in the memory of Paul Lawson, to provide scholarships to deserving students from Maryland and West Virginia, between the ages of 15-25, pursuing aviation lessons.

  • Richard and Mary Myerly Scholarship

    Photography

    This scholarship was established in memory of Richard and Mary Myerly to provide scholarships to low-income Washington County students wishing to pursue a career in photography at an accredited college, technical, or vocational school.

  • The Artist’s Palette Scholarship Fund

    Cosmetology, Aestheticians, Barbering, Nail Technicians, and/or Massage Therapy

    This fund will provide scholarships to deserving students continuing their education and career goals in the fields of cosmetology, nail technician, aesthetics, barbering, and/or massage therapy. Students residing in Maryland, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania are eligible to apply.

  • The Karim Thomas Ziyad Memorial Engineering Scholarship Fund

    Engineering

    Created in memory of Karim Thomas Ziyad, this scholarship benefits a deserving student from Washington County, or the surrounding area, that plans to pursue a career in Engineering, with a preference given to the field of Mechanical Engineering.

  • The Thomas J. Bowers Aviation Scholarship Fund

    Aviation

    A scholarship fund created in honor of Thomas J. Bowers to provide scholarships to deserving Washington County students who are active members of the Civil Air Patrol and express a desire to pursue a degree in an aviation-related field.

  • Washington County Arts Council, Inc. Foundation Scholarship Fund

    Arts

    The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. welcomes all applicants interested in pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree, or a certificate program, from an accredited educational institution with an emphasis on the arts. All students, including those individuals who have pursued a non-traditional education path, will be considered for this scholarship.

  • Washington County Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship

    Nursing

    Founded by alumni of Washington County Hospital’s School of Nursing, this fund serves to provide scholarships to deserving students who are continuing their education in Nursing.
