Adna B. Fulton Family Scholarship Awards Five Students with $750 Each
The Adna B. Fulton Family Scholarship recently awarded five scholarships to Dominique King, Chandler Penn, Kallie Shaffer, Lindsey Shank and Kayla Thomas. Mr. Fulton established this scholarship at the Community Foundation of Washington County MD, Inc. to provide scholarships to students pursuing a post-secondary education, with preference given to AC&T employees and their children or grandchildren.Dominique King recently graduated from Smithsburg High School and participated in Link Crew, National Honor Society and the Student Government Association (SGA) her junior and senior years. She will attend Penn State University and major in accounting. King works for AC&T.Chandler Penn attended St. Maria Goretti High School and played both Varsity basketball and baseball. He was a member of the National Honor Society, School Honor Committee and senior class vice president of the SGA. Penn plans to go to a four-year university and major in history/politics. His father works in the main office at AC&T.Kallie Shaffer attends West Virginia University, majoring in graphic design. She works part-time and has served as a counselor for 4-H camps and volunteered at the Morgantown Boys and Girls Club and the Widmyer Elementary School. She has a grandparent who works for AC&T.Lindsey Shank attends Hagerstown Community College, pursuing a degree in nursing. She works part-time and helps at the homeless shelter and vacation bible school at her church. Shank’s father works in the main office at AC&T.Kayla Thomas graduated from North Hagerstown High School and was involved in cheerleading, yearbook and Avid. She plans to attend a four-year university and major in journalism. Thomas’ father works for AC&T.
