Board of Trustees Create Brad Sell Community Fund

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD recently created the Brad Sell Community Fund in honor of the past president/CEO. Brad Sell retired from the Foundation in May after 16 years. When Sell began his career there, the organization had $5.7 million in assets, but has grown to $40 million today. The Foundation has distributed $2 million in grants and scholarships each of the past four years.Sell was instrumental in creating many programs during his 16 years, including the Waltersdorf-Henson Endowment Challenge, Clear Spring Challenge and Washington County Gives. During his retirement, he plans to spend more time with his family, travel and volunteer at his church.Staff_Brad-Sell“I am humbled that the board (of trustees) would create a fund at the Foundation in my name. It is an honor to know that the Brad Sell Community Fund will play a small part in meeting the most pressing future needs in our community,” said Sell.Community Funds support the Foundation’s annual responsive granting program.
