Helen and Gene Kline Scholarship Presented at HCC

The Helen and Gene Kline Scholarship recently awarded $500 to Cheryl Weaver. The Klines established this scholarship at the Community Foundation of Washington County MD, Inc. in 2005 to benefit students enrolled at Hagerstown Community College majoring in education or engineering.Weaver is pursuing her Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education/Special Education. She has 15 years of experience in this field as a substitute teacher and a paraprofessional in WCPS. Weaver plans to receive her bachelor’s degree and become a special education teacher. She wants to pursue this career path in order to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs.
