Women’s Club Foundation Presents Two Scholarships
The Women’s Club recently awarded the Women’s Club Foundation Scholarship, a fund of the Community Foundation of Washington County MD, Inc. to Margaret Longerbeam and Shaylin Youngerman. Both recipients will receive $750 for college tuition. The Women’s Club Foundation created this yearly scholarship to provide financial assistance to women in the Washington County community pursuing career advancement and/or post-secondary education after experiencing a life-changing event.Margaret Longerbeam will graduate from Williamsport High School in June and is a section leader in the Williamsport High School Blue Band. She also participates in pit band, community band, all-county band and volunteers at Reach Cold Weather Shelter. Margaret plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in music education.Shaylin Youngerman attends North Hagerstown High School where she serves as a wrestling manager. She has an apprenticeship at Toothman Orthodontics and works at Seven Ten Bowling Alley. Shaylin will go to Hagerstown Community College and hopes to become a dental hygienist.
